I recently acquired multiple pieces of jewelry from the loss of my mom. Most of the jewelry was made pre 1995 so its not as fashionable today. I'd like to have it all melted down to his and her rings with the stones added from the existing rings.

Is this possbile and if so where could I find some that could handle a task such as this?

it depends what metal it is. You wouldn't usually want to mix silver with 14 carat gold or different carat gold with each other.
If it's all the same metal, then definitely yes. They still will charge you for all their work, but not for the metal/stones if you supply them. If you don't have somebody, you have to find a jeweler, who does not only sell finished pieces but makes their own. I'd start in the yellow pages, and ask the stores if they know somebody who can do this. Ask to see their portfolio or show you pieces they made so you know you like their style. I've also known some advanced jewelry students studying jewelry at an university to get some commissions for something like that.
Depending on the designs involved it still could be a lot of work to do, and therefore not be cheap. So it may be only worth doing if the stones and the metal would be expensive on their own.

Well, yes. I've heard of guys who melted some cheap prizes down for their metal's worth.
