I am totally with you in Collateral and The Last Samurai!! He actually showed some skills in those movies. I also really liked him in his early works The Color of Money, Risky Business and Rain Man. If I had to pick a favorite though, hmmmm I think it would have to be The Last Samurai. I absolutely love the scene where the guy was going to kill himself and Tom wouldn't let him sacrifice his honor that way and did it for him. That scene moved me soo much!

Collateral and Last Samurai were good. I actually liked Minority Report and The Color of Money more though. I'd say it's a tie between those two.

I no longer watch his new stuff. For me...Eyes Wide Shut is the definitive Cruise film. Brilliant tale of one man's descent into madness. Excellent.

I still laugh when I see him yelling "I love black people" in Jerry Maguire...but the Last Samurai was pretty good. Top Gun rates up there.
