Somewhere to eat out with the girls on a Fri. night; somewhere that only Houston has, we're looking for something "different"!

The Cheesecake Factory at the Galleria. You can shop while you wait or have some great drinks at the bar. The food is great, but very large portions, think about sharing an appetizer and 1 entree for 2-3 girls, then order a cheesecake dessert---one of thirty flavors.

Dave and Buster's on Richmond is fun if you like to play the games, or try Gillian's at the Edwards Marquee and then take in a movie.

The Cadillac bar, is fun with great TexMex food.

For great Italian downtown, try Mia Bella on Main, Azzerelli's on Eldridge and Memorial in West Houston, or even Carmelo's Italian out west on Memorial.

Chaco's for inexpensive TexMex with great Magarita's on Westheimer near Fondren.

Yao's, for great Chinese, made fresh as order, on Gessner at Westheimer.

Tom's Seafood Boat on I-10 heading towards Katy has great, fresh shrimp, oysters, and fish. The wait staff is very friendly.

The Melting Pot, pricey, but delicious and fun!

Enjoy your night out!

Unique to Houston and where you can go for something different, on a Friday night.

The Downtown Aquarium. Very unique. Food is not bad, but be prepared for a wait that borders waiting for a restaurant in NYC. I think they're open until 11PM on a Friday, though. A bit pricy, but you sit in the middle of the aquarium which is fun.

What else would be unique to Houston... hmmmm.

For something out of the ordinary, try Saffron. Moroccan cuisine. They're on Lexington, which is around 59 and Shepherd.

But are you looking for a night with the girls where you can let your hair down and be a bit less restrained (this is the impression I'm getting), then try some place like The Melting Pot. You can get a little wacky with the fondues, and they have a good wine selection. Westheimer, on the north side, between Fountainview and Hillcroft/Voss.

I've lived in Houston my entire life, 40+ years. Some of the best restaurants in the US are here. If you want really good Tex-Mex try Goode Co. Taqueria on Kirby @ West-park 1 block from 59. Great beef fajitas and margaritas. For Italian try Damian's, Vincents, La Griglia or La Strada. Tony Mandolas Gulf Coast Kitchen is one of our favorite sea food places. Good luck!

Oh my gosh....Houston restaurants don't get the rep it deserves....I have lived in large cities such as Chicago and New York, and I still think there are definetely great places worth checking out in and around Houston. If price isn't an issue, here were a few of my favorite places to go and "hang out with the girls":

Americas - located near the Galleria on Post Oak.
Churrascos - on Westheimer Rd
Benjys - near Kirby Dr.
Chuys - also near Kirby Dr
Irmas Southwest Grill - downtown Houston
Lupe's - Southwest Freeway
Empire Cafe - also on Westheimer (inside the Loop)
Ouisies Table - on San Felipe

Enjoy!

Houston is a wonderful culinary town. Even the most expensive restaurants are "affordable" compared to other cities. We havemore restaurants per capita than any other town and with that competition you have to be good to survive. Check out www.b4-u-eat.com they have tons of great reviews of Houston restaurants. Search by zip, culinary type (and boy is there a range of ethnic dining here!), etc.

You might try the Spanish Flower on North Main. It's a great people watching destination. Don't let the location scare you, it's actually on the edge of the Heights.

a most suitable position to have a get alongside with the girls is Cork This! that's style of outdoors of Houston (in 1st viscount montgomery of alamein easily) yet is truly truthfully worth the stress. They make their personal wine and may easily make personalised wine labels for you.

If you like greek food, Niko Niko on montrose, not too pricey and really good food. Could be a little loud . It is a converted gas station. I can't wait to go back there.
