you need to d/l a software called, ripit4me.
this rips the copy protection then copies the movie back to your hard drive.. then,
you need to d/l a software called, dvd shrink because,
all movies come on dual layer disks meaning they are bigger than the standard 4.7 gig dvd blank. [ most movies are around 6 gigabytes].

dvd shrink compresses the NEW movie files you ripped to your hard drive and compresses it down to 4.7 gigs so it will fit on a standard dvd when you finally burn it.

Hi andrewinmelbourne,

Go here and get Any DVD http://www.slysoft.com/en/

You can use it with any DVD burning program. It makes the copy protection invisible so you can make your backup.

If you don't have a good copy program I recommend Clone DVD from the same site. It is very intuitive and works perfectly.

you buy back up cds and once you rip them on the dvd copier it comes up at the begining of the dvd saying this is a back up dvd used for back up purposes and is copy wrighted.

You need a software that can bypass the copyright.
Try to search using goggle to find the software. I once use winavi video converter and it works.
