How can you tell a terrorist from a devout Muslim? What did you have in mind? Bombing the Muslim world like Mecca and Medina? Then you would have to bomb Qom, and Mashad in Iran and Najaf and Kerbala in Iraq. But then there are Muslims living inside the US and just about every other nation so how would you get rid of them?

America fights back in a controlled fashion. It is very difficult.

America is fighting back in ways many, many people know nothing about.
Additionally: What we are fighting are Islamic Jihad's in Iraq, also fighting verbally & sanctions against Iran. Sanctions against Palenstinans. Our Military assisted the Sudan area along with their Country Militay Goverment Forces and with our Special Forces and Gunship just three weeks ago, fighting Islamic Jihad's to stop the killing of innocent people of this region. We have American Soldier's in places digging wells for fresh water, building new health clinic were there aren't any. In another region our Troops are teaching Military tactis to other goverment
troops who do not want Islamic Jihad's in their country as well. So much more is being done. We must beat these extremeists on their own turf, if not then we will have to fight them on American Soil and your Country as well!

So, for the most part, Americans, laymen and historians alike, have been able to practice what some historians have termed "selective" recollection or "historical amnesia" about the violence in their past and present. Since the 1960s, historians' works, cumulatively, have demonstrated a causal connection between American culture and the American predisposition to use violence. We might now be experiencing yet another by-product of this national penchant for violence -- a willingness to engage in a major war without asking very many hard questions. It's the American Way.

In order to fight terrorism effectively we would have to nuke every country in the world, including our own, because there are terrorist groups everywhere! All we can do is count on information gathered through the intelligence agencies to find and destroy the terrorists.

I agree - something needs to be done ! Tell Cujo ( or teejo ) up there - that nobody said killing Nazis in WWIII , would make more Nazis ..

For starters, Iran had nothing to do with 9/11. Neither did Iraq, for that matter.

The Taliban in Afghanistan, however did. But Bush isn't interested in avenging America or in protecting us aginst a repeat--he's interested in oil and how much money Haliburton and his other pals can make off the blood of our troops. So he's left al-Qaida and the Taliban alone to retake Afghanistan--and rebuild their organization.

While his favorite pet, Haliburton, takes all their blood money and moves to Dubai--you remember--the country Bush tried to sell our ports to.
