Well, it could be that Jack just resigned himself into believing he'd never get off that island and started seeing some of the others as real ppl, but I think the football moment was to throw us off a bit. He's probably trying to gain their trust so he can eventually figure out a way to escape and rescue the other ppl. Can't wait till the next ep!

It's starting to get more confusing than ever. I thought the first season was great...after that, there is just too much going on...you miss one episode and then YOUR lost.
