An alien species has contacted you and want to learn about our planet. They are benevelant and sincere and know nothing about us or our planet.

"Benevolent" and "sincere" are relative terms when dealing with creatures from another planet. They could be acting with sincerity when they destroy our planet in a benevolent act of gratitude for destroying our planet to make way for an interstellar expressway.

Other than that, I would recommend them to read Karl Marx's Communist manifesto, something by Thomas Pynchon, and the Hitchhiker's Guide to the Universe.

Good Question!!

1. Harry Potter - To convince them humans have magical powers and it won't be that easy to take over the world.
2. Pride & Predjudice - For a glimpse of how the muggles live.
3. Timeline - Just to show those aliens we are not complete idiots. I think Michael Crighton did some good research on quantum physics for this book.

1)Harry Potter and the Sorceror's Stone (to convince them a little about how our imagination works)
2)Webster's or Random House's largest dictionary (to make sure they can learn and communicate in the same language that we do)
3)1000 Things you need to know about space ( to tell them that we aren't used to aliens on our planet and we should have them donated to Scientists to stuy how they work and where they come from!)
