depends exacly on what car.... because both are very good brands... top of the line in japan, if not in the world.... for example in a family car i prefer a camry than and accord because of power and reliability and price two... but for economy cars i prefer a civic than a corolla, because first of all there are so many corollas that people steal anything they need like for example i need a radio i break in on one and taraa... and civics have won more awards and in consumer guide they are awarded best buys, corollas only recomended....for sports cars well really they aint no competition by toyotaa right now.... honda got the s2000 a marvelous car.... but basically i prefer honda for reliability and built quality, and toyota for resale value and they are cheaper... soo it depends on youu.... if you plan on keeping the car for a long time honda, if not toyota...

Honda all the way, Honda has lesser maintenance but the parts is expensive than Toyota. The resale value of a Honda is better than Toyota

Give us some more info are you talking about Cars, Trucks, SUVs and maybe give us models like honda accord versus toyota avalon. Honda Ridgeline pickup versus Toyota Tacoma etc.

I hate to be picky but are they both new or are you looking to get used.

If you will do any service then that will save you $. Please keep in mind where the service center/dealership is for each brand in case you want to have them do the work if you do and lets say pick honda and the dealer is like 50 miles away and the toyota dealer is 10 min away that may sway you to go one way or another, I made that mistake a while ago and its not fun having to drive for 45 mins just to get your oil changed etc. If you will use a local repair shop that might not matter to you as much.

I'd go with the toyota because honda's have chronic transmission problems.
