is very mean and strick, now the 8th grade is not the Marines, and I am starting to pull my hair out. Today someone asked a "stupid question" and she got all angry didn't give us the notes told us to get them on our own, she chewed us out and said we better pray to whoever we pray to that we don't fail her class and she is going to make a vocabulary quiz 55 words long that we have to write the definition for each word. SHE IS CRAZY!! How do I deal with this??

This sounds just like my old student teacher for political science... he was in the military prior to going to college to get a teaching degree and not to be mean, but he SUCKS at teaching.
there's not much you can do, and hopefully your school year is almost over, so you won't have to deal with it much longer.
You could possibly complain to your parents, who could contact the teacher/principle or tell a counselor at school.

It's hard to answer this question without actually being there to witness the situation. Is this woman really being unfair and irrational, or is she just really strict? Is your perception really objective, or is it biased because you prefer an easy teacher?

That said, I had a few hard nosed teachers in school, and while they were not pleasant to study beneath, some of them really did make an impact on their classes. I learned a lot from some, about responsibility and hard work, moreso than I did from the easy going teachers. Of course, there were a couple of real kooks thrown in there, and we just had to grit out teeth and bare with them as best we could.

Try to take the class as a positive growing experience, learn what you can from it, work as hard as you can, and try to pull out a good grade. Realize that throughout life you're going to come across a huge range of people, many of whom you won't get along with. This is true in almost every social setting you will ever be in.

It's good to learn early on how to deal with people like this without caving in from the pressure - without getting angry or spiteful, or apathetic. Even if she's tough, do your best, even if she gets tests your nerves, try to smile. Don't lash out, because it will either fuel her desire to be mean, if she really is mean, or at the very least it will disqualify any argument you may have because you will be seen as irrational and unable to moderate yourself maturely. And don't give up and quit working, because you'll only be hurting yourself.

If she really crosses the line, talk with your parents and the school principal about the situation.

And remember, it's only for a short while. Next year will bring new faces and new situations.

Complain to the principal. Make notes of exactly what happens (like you told us here, but add as many details as you can--date, the "stupid" question, etc. Get other classmates to do the same, but don't compare notes. If your notes match, it will seem like a conspiracy and the administration probably won't listen to you. But if several of you complain and have details, they pretty much have to listen. Tell your parents, too.

Try to enjoy life while it lasts. You won't care about the test when you are 30, maybe be nice to the teacher, and I don't mean suck up, but be her friend. All teachers want to feel that they have inspired their students, even if they seem mean and strict. If you are nice to her, maybe she'll be nice to you. Maybe not, but it's worth a try, I bet no one else has done that in your class.

talk to the principal/administrator. Tell them the situation CALMLY and OBJECTIVELY and make sure to have witnesses that will also be able to give calm and objective support to your claims.

Getting hysterical will make sure that nothing gets changed
