Has anyone used the Mac book pro out doing field work / journalism?

If so how did it work? Is it ok being bumped around and stuff? Would it work well on a road trip through Africa? Do you think the film editing capabilities are at least semi- professional?

the film editing on a mac is renowned, that is the reason that most people purchase Macs. The laptop should be fine during your field work, but i would be careful with the bumps and bruises, laptops are sensitive equipment by nature and will not stand up too well to drops. If this is your concern then perhaps you should invest in a rugged laptop case. (very well insulated with a tough hard exterior)
