I just baought a acer laptop and am trying to get my old desktop broad band to work with the new vista windows The cable guy couldn't figure out how to get it started can you help?

The only thing you should have to do is to plug the cable into your laptop and then run the internet connection wizard on vista. My connection was recognized immediately.

that is so strange i was having the exact same problem today the cable guy told me that i would have to send my laptop back,i called comcast tech support and he talked me though some adjustments now my laptop works great so call your internet provider support techs.

if the cable is pluged in, the conection wizard should help, look in control panel.

Do you have the internet port card? sometimes you need those
