On Sunday, I was 2 weeks from starting my next period when I suddenly started. It looked more like how it does at the end of your period. It was light with dark brown blood, which is very weird. I always start and bleed red heavily. By Monday, it was still dark brown. I thought it would pick up, so I put in a super plus tampon. I took it out 4-6 hours later, and barely anything was on it....and the blood on there was completely black. There was no clotting. I didn't put any more tampons in and I've just been wearing pads. On Tuesday, it started to pick up with some clots....but it's still not right. It has not been nearly as heavy as it usually is and it's already almost stopped and my periods last 7 days. I have had sex recently, but I have been using condoms. One time we didn't use a condom but it was only for a min. and I'm not on b.c. 1 Could I get TSS from the tampon incident? 2 Could I be preg.? 3 Should I be concerned w/ black blood and this period?

First I would go to a doctor. You can never be too safe. Yes you can get TSS from using tampons. I can't use them because all the women in my family who have used tampons got TSS. I am almost positive you are not pregnant but still go to the doctor. There could be other problems. Good luck.

When blood gets old, it turns a dark brownish color and sometimes even looks black. It's possibly because it's been inside you for a long time, and when it comes out that's where it gets its color. Concerning TSS, I would probaby see your gyno. It's probably nothing serious, but go anyway just to be safe

The only way you will know that everything is okay, is to go to your OBGYN. It could be nothing, but it could be something serious. When I had a problem a couple of years ago, I waited to go, and it turned out that if I waited much longer I would of had to have surgery... so go to the doctor.

Yellow on your knickers is subjective. If it rather is brownish yellow then confident yet yellow discharge sounds infectious. once you era is over be sure you dont see this nastiness on your drawers.

Get tested for STD's. some can cause irregularities in menstruation (like chlamydia, for example).
