Preaty sure you can, but if you want to have your TV as a second monitor, missioring your main screen, you will need another video card. If you want it to be you primary monitor it should work. To change monitor settings right click on your desktop, and click "Properties". Next click the "Settings" tab, and then AFTER your monitor is attached, specifiy which is ur main.

You don't want to do that unless it is just for watching video. The TV will not be able to handle a resolution high enough for you to adequately see text.
If you do decide to do this, you will most likely need a converter (not just a vga to component cable). Converters run at about $50-100, so it probably would be in your best interest to look on www.craigslist.com to find a cheap monitor.

It should work, though the quality might be lacking. If you haven't bought the adapters yet, you might want to go to newegg.com and look into a new video card. They do make them with the component cable in and out depending on what you want to do.

You will need an output or an adapter to generate the proper signal for the TV.

if ur TV has a VGA port , then why not just go from vga to vga. The picture is going to be as good as ur video card.
