I have been trying for a baby and only come off the pill about 3 weeks ago. Over the past week I have felt quite sick in the mornings and then anywhere between 2pm and 4pm I had a home test done about a week ago and it came up neg. This morning I did it again and there is a definate but faint line there and exactly where it would supposed to be if it was positive. The line is thin though and not as thick as the picture that displays if its positive on the packet. I'm going to the doctor tomorrow to confirm but I'm concerned about it being thin and faint. The sickness I'm getting ls like I've eaten something rotton and I'm trying not to throw up. Could be a tummy bug???
One other thing I went to gym last night for the first time I felt stiff and a bit sore I had the urge to rub my ankles could this be fluid and has it anything to do with it? Ive been going to gym for years it was only yesterday

sometimes a faint lines is positive and sometimes it is a false positive i would advise waiting for about 5 days and then take another one.ive had the same problem so believe me take another test in several days.faint lines can be misleading, and also if you call a doctor and ask they will tell you to wait and take another one...good luck

Ok. First of all, if you are just comming off of birth control, you must know that it can take anywhere from 6-12 months to become pregnant. Secondly, when you take an at home pregnancy test, make sure you read the directions. Usually when a faint line appears, no matter what side it is on, that means that the test did not work properly. Either there was not enough urine on the stick, too much urine, or you just got a bad test. This does happen quite often. Lastly, your doctor is the only one who can tell you for sure if you are pregnant. The tests that they give you at a doctor's office are much more advanced then the ones you can buy from Wal-Mart. Be smart, use some common sense when it comes to something like this.

Usually a line, no matter how faint, means you are in fact pregnant! Home pregnancy tests detect the LH hormone in your blood which increases every day that you are pregnant. A faint line only means you are newly pregnant and if you were to retest in a few days, I'm sure you'd find the line darker. As for your "symptons", most people don't experience true pregnancy symptons for at least 6 weeks, although I'm sure there are exceptions. If you are experiencing morning sickness this early, you're in for a rough few months! Therefore I'm hoping you have a little bug or maybe it's just nerves or wishful thinking! Seeing the doctor tomorrow is a good idea. It's best to begin prenatal vitamins asap. Congratulations and try not to rush things. It goes by so fast!

You'd be too early in a pregnancy for fluid retention, but the faint line definately means you are PROBABLY pregnant. The fact that the line showed up at all means it registered the HCG hormaone only found in pregnant women. That hormone is what makes the test turn positive. The fact that it was faint could be because there is'nt enough of a build up of the HCG in your body yet to register strongly. The longer you are pregnant, the higher your HCG levels go up. I would go in to the Dr. for a routine blood test to verify the home test findings. They are 100% accurate, and usually you get results the same day. It happened to me during one of my pregnancies, the 'faint' line...so i am confident in telling you that you are probably preggo!!! Good luck!

Any line is a line. False positives are very rare (only .5% of positives), so it's likely you're pregnant. With my two line pregnancy tests of the same brand, out of the same package, my line was very light...and showed up on different sides of the test line each test. Which I thought was screwy. So I bought a digital test (clearblue easy digital) to know for sure, and it came up pregnant! I just saw my little one on ultrasound today, so I know all those tests were right, weird lines or not!

dark, faint, somewhere in between... they all mean the same thing! congrats!

by the way, I got pregnant with my oldest two weeks after coming off the pill! Some women's bodies just readjust to the new hormone levels faster! :)

as far as fluid retention goes...it will be months and MONTHS before you are encountering anything like that...however, every time I have been pregnant my joints have started aching pretty early on.

darling, if there is a faint line, you ARE pregnant! Even a faint positive is still a positive, unless you somehow did the test wrong, but i doubt that.
Congratulations!
