They're not emo! Labels are pointless, and so frustrating. Stereotypically, emo is negative and depressing. Everyone dislikes it. blah blah blah well guess what It's really not that bad. You can't judge people before you know them, just because they may dress emo.
Panic at the Disco are dance rock. They have elements of techno and alternative, and a little pop. I don't consider them emo at all. People just say that because they don't know the music-they've probably only seen them on tv, or heard one song, or seen "emo" kids who like them

The word Emo is thrown around alot these days. It is a cop-out in my opinion. It is ALL rock music to me. People just like to put labels on things to generalize a certain group of people who preform and listen to music. The term Emo is supposed to be "Emotional" music but in all reality, all music has some emotion in them. They just want to say that emo people are kids that want to hurt themselves, and that is crap.

It's not emo- they don't describe themselves as emo, I read an article where they took offence at that. I would also call them alternative rock- they are all about changing the way people look at modern rock.

NO. I'm not emo and i listen to Panic!
I'd call it alternative/progressive rock. They're completely different from any other group (I get a headache whenever someone tells me they sound exactly like Fall Out Boy!!! um....NO!)
