Hiyah,

If you want to go into college, your best bet is maybe taking your generals. That way you can explore the subjects that are studied, and find one that you really like.

Don't worry about the age thing ;) I know a few people that are between 48 and 56 that just came to college, and want to become a teacher.

The felony for robbery was awhile ago. This have changed and you can get a good job! People will think that your more mature then you were when you were 18 and will consider to higher you. 18 year old's do crazy things sometimes ;)

Keep pressing on, and I'm sure you can get a great career! :]

You are never too old. I recieved my degree 20 years later than I planned. I was 44 when I received a degree in accounting. It was something I wanted to do since I was a junior in high school. I did not have money for school and joined the Army. Spent over 20 years serving and enjoyed every minute of it. I started college before retiring and recieved my degree just a year after retiring. I had a hard time finding a job. You have to persistant and passionate and work at it. Stay focused and motivated. Don't worry about the felony. By the time you graduate 4 years later, it may not matter. Be honest and disclose the felony, if asked. Do not volunteer the information. By being honest and upfront in the beginning, it shows that you realize that you made a misstake and you are being honest by not hiding it. On the same hand, you have to realize there will be some predacious against you. If you get a personal interview, let them know that that is in the past and you have over come it. Maybe, it means being on a probationary period. But keep your head and stay motivated.

Your not too old. I wouldn't try to get a job in politics or anything but a career in culinary or maybe in child psychology or child development, to help kids that might turn out how you did when you were 18- show them that you can change the path your on in life. I went back to college at 24, I could be a chef right now, but I have no desire to cook in a kitchen, so 20k in debt later, I am going back to school in the fall sometime for hair, nails and skin and I am 30. Go to school for something that your passionate about, why have a job you hate when you can work hard for a career that you love?
