The reason bulimia (and anorexia) cause irregular heart beats is due to the malnutrition that results from not eating.
Your muscles require certain electrolytes, especially potassium, in order to function properly. Without them, nerve impulses are not conducted properly. This leads to muscle twitches and, in the case of your heart, an irregular rhythm. Irregular rhythm's lead to inappropriate circulation, which starves the brain of oxygen. Ultimately, an irregular beat can lead to a total cessation of circulation (in the form of a heart attack, for example) which will kill you dead.
So you're slowly killing yourself by puking after you eat.

And, for your enjoyment, a list of other possible side effects you could suffer from if you continue to binge and purge:
Bulimia can result in following health problems:
* Malnutrition
* Dehydration
* Electrolyte imbalance
* Hyponatremia
* Damaging of the voice
* Vitamin and mineral deficiencies
* Teeth erosion and cavities, gum disease
* Sialadenosis (salivary gland swelling)
* Potential for gastric rupture during periods of binging
* Esophageal reflux
* Irritation, inflammation, and possible rupture of the esophagus
* Laxative dependence
* Peptic ulcers and pancreatitis
* Emetic toxicity due to ipecac abuse
* Swelling of the face and cheeks, especially apparent in the lower eyelids due to the high pressure of blood in the face during vomiting.
* Callused or bruised fingers
* Dry or brittle skin, hair, and nails, or hair loss
* Lanugo
* Edema
* Muscle atrophy
* Decreased/increased bowel activity
* Digestive problems that may be triggered, including Celiac, Crohn's Disease
* Low blood pressure, hypotension
* Orthostatic hypotension
* High blood pressure, hypertension
* Iron deficiency, anemia
* Hormonal imbalances
* Hyperactivity
* Depression
* Insomnia
* Amenorrhea
* Infertility
* Polycystic Ovary Syndrome
* High risk pregnancy, miscarriage, still-born babies
* Diabetes
* Elevated blood sugar or hyperglycemia
* Ketoacidosis
* Osteoporosis
* Arthritis
* Weakness and fatigue
* Chronic Fatigue Syndrome
* Cancer of the throat or voice box
* Liver failure
* Kidney infection and failure
* Heart failure, heart arrhythmia, angina
* Seizure
* Paralysis
* Potential death caused by heart attack or heart failure; lung collapse; internal bleeding, stroke, kidney failure, liver failure; pancreatitis, gastric rupture, perforated ulcer, depression and suicide.
I'd recommend stopping the behavior before you do serious damage to your esophagus, heart, or teeth enamel and seek counseling or a support group.

Let me answer that with a definite YES. It can make the problem much much worse.
First of all Bulimia needs immediate help. It ruins your body not only on the outside but on the inside. Your heart needs nutrients to not only work but to be healthy itself. Remember that the heart is a muscle and muscles need protein. Protein comes from food.
If you can't manage to eat anything b/c of your stomach shrinking then defintely look into supplement pills such as Centrum. Visit a vitamin store (We have Vitamin World here) and get something that has calcium (for the brittle bones) and as many vitamins as possible.

If your seriously considering bulemia as an option, please remember that the Hydrochloric Acid in your stomach eats away at your teeth everytime you throw up. Also, you might want to take to mind that Bulemia leads to a loss in muscle tissue and not bodyfat. Your body enters survival mode where it hangs onto its fat (which is a storage mechanism for energy from thousands of years ago when food was scarce), and burns muscle tissue, which provides protein, instead.
It doesn't matter if it makes it worse or not. What matters is that what your thinking of doing will not even help your goal. Do NOT be scared of food! Be scared of the wrong TYPES of food.

It can lead to NO heartbeats. Ever hear of Karen Carpenter? It's far from a normal solution. The fact that a person can actually think this is a solution of any kind shows they are trying to resolve something much bigger than weight. They need professional help.

If you do have bulimia, please i encourage to talk to someone about it because hiding your feelings about something could lead to more seriousness. I had a bulimic friend once and I think she stopped soon. but I'm not sure but I think you might have irregular heartbeats because your basically throwing up something that you body does not want to give up.
Think about it carefully. and consult a docter or an expert if anything. Hope I helped :)

I wouldn't be fooling around with it, that's for sure. You need to talk to your doctor and be sure he/she knows what is going on.
