That's nonsense. You can be a real woman without ever even having a baby. Womanhood is in the mind, heart and soul.

a lot of women feel less of a woman when they have a c-section because they dont get to fully go through the childbirth process. they feel less of an intimate connection with their child during birth because it is a surgical procedure. childbirth is a special time in a womans life and some women may feel disconnected when they have a section. i dont know how it feels because im not due for a week or so, but i am hoping to be able to push the baby out. i understnad completely how these women feel because i know i would be upset if i had to have a section. i understand what you are saying about carrying a baby for nine months.. but those nine months are suppose to lead up to the best day of your life and that is when you deliver your baby. when you get to the hospital and you are told that your dream has just been shattered, it can be somewhat traumatizing to the mother. it normal though.. maybe if she has another baby, she can go naturally.

After my first emergency c section, I know NO baby is coming out the way they are supposed to from my body. I will never risk having a full day of labor and then ending in a c section anyways. I am not a failure as a woman, my body failed me, I won't let it fail me again. I have had 3 c section babies... No cone heads on my kids and they don't have any traumatic entry to the world, no scars on their face from forceps (an adult I know has them, not sure they use them anymore). If this was 100 years ago, I would have died during birth! Just being a mom is being a real woman.

I have wondered that myself. When I had my children I would not have cared whether I had them vaginal or c section. I still feel like a woman. I carried all three children from conception to birth and now am raising them. How is that not being a woman.

It seems that there is a lot of pressure for women to deliver naturally and to breastfeed. Women are thrown on a guilt trip if they don't comply, and too often those judging aren't understanding or sympathetic to the situation.
It doesn't matter how the baby comes out - it doesn't make you any less of a woman.

I had to have a c-section and the end result was me holding my beautiful healthy baby boy. So i dont really give a crap about people who say anything negative about it. Thats their issue. Obviously they were not woman enough in the first place to think better of themselves. i feel sorry for them.

i don't think it does and i don't think they are missing anything by having a c-section, but then again i delivered naturally. i know a girl that is driving 100 miles to a doctor in a nearby city because she delivered her first child by c-section, she wants to have this one naturally and no doctors in our town will do a natural after c-section.
