New $1 Coins--Will you use them?

Question

I personally love the new dollar coins, in fact I like all dollar coins, and half dollars. I plan to use them at every opportunity. Anyone else feel the same way?

I will, it is the people here, that refuse to use them, that costs the taxpayers millions of dollars, due to the printing of dollar bills. Bill last only a few months, coins are at least a 30 year thing. So if they get mad due to there is no money for some of the things they think the government to do, it's their fault. I have never figured out people getting rolls and rolls of quarters to do laundry when a couple of dollar coins would do. I have seen people try for a long time, to get a paper money change machine to work, with out spitting out the bill. The government should just stop making the dollar and we should join the rest of the world, like Canada, the UK and Australia to name a few. I will stop here for it should not be a political thing.

I don't. I save all my change. Plus, it gets too heavy and bulky when you get a lot of it. And it's a great way to save money by emptying out your change. And I know that most people these days just carry around their credit/debit card. So who knows. I'd believe that they are making the coins for collectors more than spending. But...that's just my opinion. :D

No, i feel America would rather use the paper money because it is alot easier to use, that is why the Sacagewa dollar isnt much in circulation.

as a canadian i've always used coins for $1 and $2. i find that though if you have a lot a lot it gets heavy but then again its easier for change and buying smaller amounts since a change purse is smaller than a wallet

I have used them to pay for things for years and plan to continue doing so in the future. A few in your pocket for miscellaneous items is no big deal.
