Tell them that you know about the future expansions, that you are really interrested in staying with them although your contract is up and ask them if there is any way they will keep you!

Approach them friendly and confidently and also make sure you explain to them why you would like to stay and why you will be of benefit to them!

good luck!!!!! :)

You are a trainee for what? Most companies don't put people into a trainee program unless they have opportunities for them to move into.
Here would be my approach:
- Verify that you have satisfactorily completed the trainee program
- Ask management what career path they have in mind for you

You should ask THEM to tell you what the future holds. I would advise against asking them to do anything specific. The lack of a vacancy for you to fill is not your problem to address.

Just do as you did here. Simply approach management, ask if they have a few minutes to speak with you and make your request. Be very upbeat and show your enthusiasm for wanting to continue employment with the company. Be thinking of reasons why prior to the meeting and even make notes so that you state all of them. I have been in management over 25 years and I always make time to speak with ambitious employees. Also, I have hired temp-to-hire based upon their contacting me. Best of luck...

Just go to your boss and tell him that you have enjoyed working with the company, have learned a lot and believe that you could become a valuable asset. Also, add that you are looking forward to hearing his decision on making you a permanent hire.
