IT IS A LOSSY COMPRESSED PICTURE. LOSSY MEANS IT LOOSES INFO WHEN IT IS COMPRESSED .so if you make a change and save it the file (picture) get degraded so if you keep making changes and saving it it will become fuzzier and fuzzier
hope this helps P.S. that is why pros's prefer the raw format the files are much larger but the details are there even when they enlarge them
