The best thing to do is put him in a warm, quite place with very low lighting and no people walking around. Just let him be to recover as best as he can from the stress. He should make it as long as you didn't drop him from too high up.

I had a comet goldfish jump out of his outdoor pond onto concrete. He laid there for I don't know how many hours. I thought he was dead, but I put him in the water, just in case, and he started swimming again. He got one horrendous case of columnaris, but he survived. Salt destresses fish, so you might try adding some aquarium salt to the water. You can also use pickling salt, rock salt or kosher salt. Just don't use iodized table salt. Don't add it directly to the water. Pre-mix it first and then pour it in slowly and evenly. You would add a scant 1 tsp per gallon of water. Keep his water very warm, around 80 degrees F. Don't poke at him or shake his tank. This will only stress him more. Just let him rest. It's hard to say whether he'll make it, but all you can do is wait and see.

I know just how you feel . I was feeding my betta once and cinnamon just jumped on the carpet but as hard as i tried, he didn't make it. But I don't want to dampen your experience. But how high did he jump down from. I depends because the same happened when my bala jumped but he didn't die he's still alive right now. So height plays a huge factor and how long he was out of water as well.

Hope it Helps.

I have had numerous Betta fish. You may want to try a stress coat that you can find at Walmart in the fish department. Keep his/her water as clean as possible, you may even want to try spring water for a few days. He may have just lost some scales and is just trying to regain his strength. He should be fine altho I have had Betta's live for 5 or more years and others a few months it just depends on how old they are when you get them. Good luck.

Make sure that your water is the perfect temp. Many times just changing the temp of the water can make a difference in whether or not he will live or die. You may have to make your house uncomfortable to you, but it needs to be about 72-75 degrees. Other than that give him some stress medicine and make sure that you water is perfect. It's about a 50/50 chance he will live because he could have gotten some internal damage.

50 / 50 keep the water perfect and add a little salt. I've dropped them before and had them live, and sadly I've had one die too. Feed sparingly for about a week or two.
