I accidentally forgot to feed my python two mice yesterday and they chewed through their box and escaped... I just saw one now, and he ran off.

What's the best way to catch them? I don't care if it takes lethal measures but I have to get rid of these two mice. What should I use? Mousetraps, poison? What works best?

Thanks for your suggestions guys. Unfortunately I'm obscenely allergic to cats so that's out of the question. I bought 8 mousetraps today and loaded 'em up with peanut butter. I sure hope I catch these lil bastards soon, my girlfriend is gonna freak if she finds out :).

I certainly wouldn't recommend poisons. Mice have the nasty habit of crawling into impossible to reach places before dying. Then they stink rather badly for a while. Mousetraps - whether lethal traps or 'live' traps are probably you're best bet. I personally would recommend using peanut butter. It sticks to the trap where you put it so the mouse can't grab it and run. It's scented highly enough that it gets their attention, They love it, and you can always use the left over peanut butter to make a sandwich.
PS : I had a pet rat for 4 years. His name was Lucky because although he was bought for python food, the python escaped before the rat was eaten. Anyhow the python showed up two weeks later, but by then I had gotten attached to the food. The point is - don't get attached to the food.

peanut butter is a good bait for mice. Put some on the pressure plate of a mouse trap. Bye Bye mice.

You could try putting peanut butter on the mouse trap. Mice tend to luv peanut butter. Or if you know someone who has a cat, let them bring it over.

i would say that a cat works best , if you know someone with a cat see if they will let you keep it for a few days . if not then i think traps with penut butter works great.

Might be risky, but just let your python out. Try not to use my answer unless it's a last resort.

Glue pads really work well. They sure will not get away if they so much as touch it.
