It's not always that easy to know wether there's a fire or not. Think of all weird chemicals and composites there are out there today that generates heavy smoke without the slightest flame or spark. And what about smoke machines? Certainly no fire involved there. I guess you catch my drift. The "Fire Distinguisher" is a ground breaking product that will save millions of precious tax dollars. Why, you ask? Well, think about it. From now on fire departments all over the world can actually determine before hand wether to drench a building, vehicle or person in water or foam or to simply roll over and fall back to sleep. And it's great to for home use aswell: Combine it with your standard, off-the-shelf smoke detector and you have a idiot-proof fire security system. No foam or water will be spilled without proper cause. It's the Fire Distinguisher, ladies and gentlemen. There can and will be smoke without fire, and when this occurs, you'll be the first to know.
How it works: The device has a "lens" mounted in the front. Aim this towards the center of what you think may be the center of the fire (i.e. at the center of the smoke) and a wide-angle thermo-sensor will scan the area and determine wether there is a heat source intense enough to actually be fire.)
