Well... I'd spend that day apologizing to God about my messy bathroorm, my disorganized closet, the papers strewn on my desk at work, my strained social relationships, etc. After all, He's in my place for a day, right? :)

And I'd let Him know it would be O.K. to fix things up as He saw fit!

Hopefully He would have the world running on "auto-pilot" for a day, because I'd have no idea how to fly it.

I don't know if God as He is commonly defined exists, but if He does, it is a necessary part of His nature that He is allowing events in the world to progress exactly as they should (because He is all good, meaning He would want to prevent things from happening as they shouldn't, and He is all powerful, which means He would have the power to do so). This dilemma (the problem of evil) is one of the most common obstactles to belief in an all powerful and all good God.

But despite this problem, if God does exist, then He's doing as He should, in which case I would have to spend that day exactly as God would have spent it if He weren't spending the day in my shoes instead.

If I were God, I'd understand women.

I'd probably smite a few people with lightning bolts.
I'd bring rain to drought affected areas
I'd wind back the effects of global warming by 100 years

And just before I handed the power back, I'd give myself the ongoing power to heal the sick. That way I'd have a full-time job for life.

i'd start by sweeping away the crap of humanity, leaving only the good, decent & respectful ones who harbour a deep love & respect for the world they have and all things on it, doesn't mean everyone would be vegan or anything, but the cruel, wicked & those who enjoy inflicting misery & death for fun/sport on anything would be a memory. i'd also clean up the pollution infecting the world. i'd ensure high infant survival rates among endangered & rare things to fix the impending extinctions. then i'd perform a few minor miracles in the financial department for my closest friends & family. then i'd hand back the reins. (honestly.)

Order God back in the deity business and return back to my old self. Why would I want to be God? Its a tough job. Everyone wants something from you. No rest at all. And if you don't deliver pronto, people might stop believing in you.

Under no circumstances would I want God's burdens and sum of knowledge.

To know what every human thinks every moment of eternity would be an impossible burden for me.

No Thank You.

Oh my, many many things, but these are the more important ones.

I'd let weather and soil conditions in Africa be favorable so that they can solve their hunger problems.

I'd rob those rich spoilt brats of their money and give them to people dying to make ends meet.

Find Osama and send him straight to hell and give back the dignity of innocent Iraqis.

First thing would be to extend the day indefinitely. Then take your time, think a lot, why think of everything you got, for you will still be here tomorrow, but your dreams may not.
