The only candidates I can think of are irukanji jellyfish, box jellyfish, stonefish, platypus, gila monster, and coral snake. Unless it would really be a two or three way tie or an animal I'm not familiar with.

Might throw a scorpion in there too maybe, or venomous spider. Bullet ants I think the pain only lasts about 24 hours right? Stonefish is good but looked it up on wikipedia and it didn't really say....

It's the stonefish, it's venom is known to cause the most excruciating pain.

It's hilarious that some one said bullet ant, because that was going to be my answer! When I was in Costa Rica I learned that the sting from these ants can last for days. Pretty awesome for an ant huh (although it is rather large for an ant)?
