Your pads may need replacing. Or, you could have a brake pad that has come loose (that is, one of the clips may have broken) and so it drags. You could have excess brake dust on that side. Or, as some pads actually have sensors to let you know when they are getting close to replacement time; that could be the noise.
The only way you can know for sure, is to take a look.

Disc brakes come equipped with squealers, meaning when the brakes wear down to a point that the squealers contact the rotor, warning the driver that it is time to replace the pads.

Sounds like your brakes need replacing. The break pad wear indicator may be touching the rotor causing the sound. You may need to have the rotors turned and pads replaced.

It could be that there is a defect in the design of the left brake or there could be a crack in the metallic area.

you need to have brake pads replaced a.s.a.p.
if you leave it the noise will occur more often to the point occurring all the time and at this point you will need to spend more money to replace the rotors.

if it is only your left tire - sounds like a caliper seizing u p - get your brakes checked right away

If its the tyre screeching.......check the tyre pressure.....
do this first......cos its cheap to do...
