Parts are still very easy to find for this as they made so many of the bikes.
Your Kawasaki dealer is a good place to start. You can also pick up lots of parts on e-bay. Another source is http://bikeboneyard.com
The first thing I would do is to purchase a parts book or fiche for your model so you can look up the parts yourself. It helps to have the numbers and knowing what year fits what if you are buying used parts or parts off e-bay. You can buy the official Kawasaki parts program for your computer from this guy http://pages.123-reg.co.uk/kawasakipaul-578847/kawasakipaul/id1.html It's the exact same program I used at the shop.

If the bike runs, is in decent shape, and has a title, that's a steal. As far as using a 39 year old bike as daily transportation? I don't know if I would recommend it. It really depends on what you have in mind. If you are doing city commuting or riding around a college campus, then I would say it was fine. If you are planning on using it for any longer distances, or in places where gettng stranded would be dangerous, I would buy another bike too. (Don't pass up this deal though.) There are a TON of bikes out there that will work just as well and maybe be more reliable and highway safe. A quick look at my local Craigslist has a '90 XT350 right in your price range. That might work a little better as a daily form of transportation, but the possibities are endless.
