Hi, Well, I found out quite by accident and I wasn't even looking to improve my legs. I live up on a third floor apartment which has 28 steps in one direction. This means I walk up/down at least 56 steps a day. After about 3 weeks, I noticed my calf and leg muscles were starting to get toned and tight. Plus, I was having more energy so I started to come home for lunch which means 4 x 28 steps = 112 steps which I now do everyday. Plus once a week I get groceries and I have to make about 3 trips up/down, so that's 168 steps.
I get kind of tired on grocery day because I am 65 years old. But I DO have shapely legs. Give steps a try. Smiles and good luck !

try to walk when you can rather than drive or take the bus or whatever, if you work that into your routine your legs will shape up and you'll be generally fitter. also try jogging where theres lots of hills.
i love running its so fun

climb stairs but not only foward, try climbing them backward. You will discover muscles you never knew you had. Just make sure you have a handrail and be cautious doing this.
