There are tons of resources out there on the web to check. One article, written by a woman guitarist (I only mention that so that when you find the one article written by a girl you'll know it's theone I'm talking about - I think she posted it on guitarnoise.com), made me feel a lot better about myself and my progress with solos. She basically said that it takes A LOT of work to get asolo down, and that typically people will practice the first couple bars, and then give up and go find tabs for some other song to mess with, and that pattern repeats itself. So she said even good players have to work hard at learning a solo, and that it takes a lot of time. More so if you don't play a lot of lead style guitar. I'm the opposite - I can play lead style pretty well, but can't play out a whole song's rhythm parts like you say you can. Unfortunately, I don't know how to practice *that*. So consider yourself lucky.

there can be many tips you can get from here buti'm going to give you one, take lessons.

learning by yourself can cultivate a lot of bad habits that could prevent you from learning more advanced guitar techniques and could be impossible to unlearn

Try playing "on" the beat instead of behind the beat.
