Symptoms of schizophrenia:

Delusions: false ideas that a person has about him or herself or surroundings (such as receiving special messages from the TV or radio, having unusual powers that no one else has, or being singled out for persecution)

I have actually had experiences like this, ive had phases where i feel i hav psychic powers, and that people are always using me because im so kind...

Hallucinations: sensations that are heard, seen, smelled, or felt that a person experiences while others do not. The most common hallucination is auditory – hearing voices talking negatively about the person or sometimes giving commands for dangerous behavior; however, not everyone with schizophrenia hears voices

I cant sleep because as soon as i close my eyes, i imagine there is a demon inside of me saying "im gona get u now boy" . i KNOW that this cant be real, but the FEELINGS i have are still there.

LISTEN.. The organization of my writing ONLY happens when im sitting at this computer. and it takes me VERY long to do it. i was normal once u know. ive always been good in english.if i was to type as how im thinking.it wud end up extremely different than how it was.and u ppl need to stop tellin me to go to the psychiatrist.i want ur opinions. u are not STUPID, not only doctors can tell u whether or not u hav an illness. stop acting as though u are stupid. wat do u think makes doctors able to tell ppl whether they hav it or not.. ONLY THE FACT THAT THEY KNO THE SYMPTOMS...they are ppl just like u, they arent super-intelligent or anything. use your own brain, i want YOUR opinions, if i wanted a doctors opinion right now i wud go to a doctor if i had the money.

I think most people wouldnt understand what you are going through because they themselves werent schizophrenic before, they simply wont know what its like.
From what i can tell, you seem to be rather rational/self aware about your mental condition. Since you do know that some of those feelings/thoughts are not true to start with, i think its important that you convince yourself beyond doubt that the auditory feelings are not really existent(demons, voices etc), otherwise they will begin affecting how you think and act.
My question to you is if you do know these voices demons dont really exist, why is it that you are unable to suppress them enough so that they dont affect you adversely??

Look up hypochondria. If you're not a hypochondriac, you're just a normal teenager. I get all of your described symptoms, but I'm a hypochondriac. The way I can tell you're one is because if you were serious about this you'd demand a series of tests and an immediate doctor's appointment. You'd also probably not be sane enough to type legibly or sensibly. Maybe you have obsessive compulsive. Just stay off any non-prescription or non-over-the-counter drugs if you're on them. Go to a doctor if you want real advice man. Good luck. If you had schizephoenia you probably wouldn't have done some much research to prove it. A hypochondriac would be anxious for their results while a schizephoeniac would be in denial and scared of much of his/her surrounding to do so. Methinks yer fine.

Hi,

The best way to get an answer for your question is to go to a mental health facility for an evaluation and diagnosis. There are other psychiatric disorders that have the symptoms you described. It is also possible for people to have more than one disorder or tendencies to have the criteria.

It could also be that you are having genuine psychic experiences. Often these are mistaken for psychiatric disorders. I have had clients who were having psychic, now called extraordinary experiences and were misdiagnosed. I am a parapsychologist and retired counselor. Or, it could be a mix of both.

There are therapies that can help you including medication, but only people with the proper training can evaluate and diagnose and a psychiatrist would be the one to prescribe meds.

I wish you the best. If you are your family cannot afford therapy, there are many programs that can. It may take a while to find them. Usually the telephone book has listings for mental health agencies and hospitals can be of help.

I've read answers above most real good advice from some very caring people. As for me, You may want to see your family doctor, maybe chemical or biological. If you are drinking alcohol stop, it depletes all nutrients, take vit's and eat. Take you doctors advice, I would expect your school counselor would be helpful. My best By the way you are extremely lucid in your observations. Mental ill persons don't display that degree of lucidity.

You seem to have something but just about ALL schizophrenics hear voices. That is just about a universal symptom of schizophrenia.

Try an antidepressant and see if that helps. Give it at least a month. You will probably be more social and sleep better. Your mind should stop racing.

With the organization of your writing, I doubt that you are Schizophrenic. You have done some research. Are you using any drugs? Go to a psychiatrist. You need some reassurance.

Go to a psychiatrist. You've obviously done your homework, so just go to a doctor and tell him all of this. Good luck!
