i ride to the left lane, always keeping a nice cushion between me and the car ahead, and each and every time i see a car in the turn lane, i check my mirrors, and cover the clutch and brakes....just in case this moron is the 1 that doesnt see me.
i never hang around a car's blind spot, and i never allow myself to get boxed in in a situation like that. i prefer to keep at least 2 car lengths of space, and try to think up possible escape paths if needed. i also keep a close eye on my mirrors, just in case i have to clamp down on the brakes; do i hold on the brakes to full stop, or do i do a quick brake to slow down a bit, and put it into a hard swerve? not healthy to just clamp down on the brakes with a car driver that's tailgating....instant crunch time from behind.

Number one is to stay alert and watching the traffic around you, those in front and in back. And having a continuing/evolving 'escape route'.
I tend to want the left lane more- a bit less worry about cars merging/turning onto the road or wanting off.
Still need to watch for folks coming across from the center turn lane, or folks who don't think a bike has a legal right to a full traffic lane. Avoid riding off a car's quarterpanels. Blind spot for them means dead spot potentially for you! Change your position inside that lane "Use the entire lane". If you keep to just one side of that lane folks are going to interpret that as an invite to share with you. Best to ride slightly to either side of that center 'grease track', but vary within it to take up the lane better.
If you come to a stop sign, watch your mirrors to be sure the car behind you is going to stop before hitting you. Keep your bike in first gear and be ready to move in case the car behind isn't going to stop in time. That split second to slam it into gear and vacate your spot could be too much time. Always consider yourself invisible to the cagers! How many times has the cager told the officer "But I didnt see the bike"?! Even if they look directly at you, the eyes may see but the brain doesn't process!!

Stay closer to one side of your lane, and keep out of the right lane unless you plan on turning right.
Keeping close to the lines instead of the center allows you to see farther down through traffic and anticipate situations better, and if something does happen it is easier to split the lanes as a last ditch effort to save your bacon.
People never use their signals, and there's always some schmuck behind you on the phone, so being in the right lane increases your chances of having to stop fast for the former making a sudden turn and being crushed by the latter. The inner lanes move along smoother, and there is also less of a chance of being hidden by another car turning left from the opposite direction.
I could go on, and on...

I would ride in the left lane of the side I am traveling on. Always stay in the center of your lane or some cars will try to share your lane with you. Keep a good watch on both mirrors to see if you are able to quickly move one way or the other if someone does something stupid and watch the road for retreads and other objects.

You can't have a straight through lane as this would eliminate left turns for vehicles coming in the opposite direction. I drive on the right. By the way I do not like the term "Biker" and you don't ride in the center of the lane that's where the oil is.

I always am in the left side of the lane I'm in, 1st because you don't want to ride in the oil and junk in the middle of the lane and second if your on the right side some knuckle head will try to pass you in 1/2 the lane. I am always looking for a bail out area if some body does something stupid around me.

I would ride on the inside lane, as to not have to stop and change lanes every time someone needs to make a right hand turn, I also would make sure there was enough stopping space all around me

Well, I like to get there so I switch lanes a lot and drive by sight ahead of where I am anticipating anything coming at me, including those big bugs in the summer. Of course staying on the farthest lane away fm oncoming traf is a no-brainer. Most shoulders are there to avoid trouble,or wait for repair because there is trouble, and get out of the way if trouble comes.
Headlights on but most bikes have that as default, wear clothes desighned to be seen in un less u like black. U can always stay UNDER the speed limit and obey all the rules.
Always make sure that your manuevers never, ever approach touching metal or bumpers while leaned over...

You drive on the right in the USA
in Australia we drive on the left..
I sit behind a car in front...in the lane closest to the gutter of the road.. but closer to the center line of the road..
This allows me Max time & distance to see vehicals coming in from each side of the road....
It also allows me the option of swerving around the car in front if he locks up for some reason....
Still riding....35 years & counting...

is this for the era of distinctive matters? and that i take it that once you assert she in basic terms has problem with "pop" quizzes, that she's nice for assessments that she predicted and studied for? First, i might seem for a trend in what the concern seems to be like on the questions she misses. Is she no longer writing down solutions in any respect, or no longer ending questions? Is she actual putting down incorrect solutions? there are a number of distinctive opportunities. One (which i'm by way of no skill asserting is the case with you, no offense ... needless to say i do no longer recognize your daughter -- in spite of the indisputable fact that it rather is one ingredient to evaluate) is that her grades are greater on issues she has time to coach for because of the fact she's cheating. yet another is that she has some sort of try stress, for which i might attempt a mix of conversing to her instructors or perhaps a school counsellor (this could have a huge impact on her interior the long-term if it rather is quite the case, so which you rather need to help her handle it), and doing all your perfect to diminish the rigidity on her approximately grades (stress gaining expertise of, instead). yet another is that school is quite hassle-free for her that she's no longer been paying a large number of interest to her homework, that could desire to be remedied by way of having her take notes or some thing comparable jointly as she reads. yet another is that there is a particular undertaking the two with the undertaking rely she's lacking (maybe she merely did no longer get osmosis or despite), the instructor for that type having unreasonable expectancies (is all people getting undesirable grades on those quizzes?), or the form wherein the questions are being asked (does she have problems with essay questions or numerous determination questions, as an occasion?) In any experience, I certainly would not dream of punishing her for procuring a bad grade. you assert that she's working quite difficult, and that's what concerns. Have a communique together with her approximately how plenty you admire her artwork ethic while it includes college. enable her recognize that a bad grade isn't a mirrored image on her value as a guy or woman! convey self belief that if she keeps working difficult, she will learn this textile, and enable her recognize that what she learns and how difficult she works are far greater significant than what grades she gets.
