The ending is total Scorsese. Personally, I liked the original HK version better (Infernal Affairs), it moved at a faster pace and was more entertaining. That been said, the cast from Departed definitely outshined the HK cast and the HK cast is a damn good ensemble of actors! lol

The rat scurrying across the balcony at the end made me laugh hysterically. "The Departed" was a fun movie, but it was not Academy Award material. There was nothing important about the film at all. It was a cheesy, violent, vulgar cartoon. I loved it, but no one is going to remember it this time next year.

Alec Baldwin made me miss lines I was laughing so much. And Mark Wahlberg surprised the hell out of me. And, of course, there's friggin' nothing Leonardo DiCaprio can't do...it's a little annoying. And then there's Jack who seems intent on stealing the movie, and nearly does.

"The Departed" is a movie that was designed to win Academy Awards. It has little to do with art. So, yeah, I liked it, but I don't respect it.

I was shocked when Leo's character bought it, but everything else after that i saw coming.

The only part I hated was the shot of the rat at the very end. A little over the top and completely unnecessary for me.

I wouldn't have minded a little bit more hope in the ending. But I still loved the movie!

The first time I saw it I was a little unsatisfied. But after watching it a few more times it's grown on me.

all the killing at the end seemed to be gratuitous. I liked the movie up until the elevator scene.

I thought that it could have ended better. There was to much dying they could have let at least one more person live.

i hated that leonardo dicaprio got shot but i love that matt damon did. as for jack, jack got what he deserved for being a liar since day one. oh and i also love that the girlfriend just walked away at leo's funeral. it could've been better if she would've said that it wasn't his baby....which i don't know if it was, but it would've been like "screw you matt damon!" i loved that movie. did you?
