Alternate Ending to Othello - Shakespear?

I am trying to come up with an alternate ending for the book Othello by shapespear. I only wana change up the lst scene, and prefer a sad ending where Iago doesnt die. Anyone have any ideas?, would be nice if it was a bit detailed :)

The ending is pretty grim as it is. There's a whole pile of bodies on the bed. When Lodovico challenges Iago to explain himself, Iago refuses, and then never says anything else. Iago is sent off to be tortured, but you know that he's never going to say anything ever again.

I think it's way more chilling than any ending in which Iago escapes.

You could try to out-Shakespeare Shakespeare by having Iago talk his way out of it. That's what Iago does best: he makes small insinuations that have a huge effect on the listener. Think of him as Hannibal Lecter from Silence of the Lambs. Try something in which he says that he'll explain, but only to Lodovico himself. Lodovico clears the room, and then Iago can try to talk his way out of it. Maybe he'll even convince Lodovico that Cassio is responsible, or even Lodovico himself.

I can't really contribute a useful idea here, because I don't understand what it is you're trying to accomplish. You say you prefer a "sad ending"...you mean as opposed to the happy, singing/dancing finale that Shakespeare originally wrote?

And, by the way...Iago doesn't die in the play. So, you don't have to write that version.

Cinderella realizes she does not want a guy to end her existence. She slowly takes over the dominion, from the interior, and then borrows a leaf from Snow White and feeds him a poisoned apple. After she sees her evil stepmother and sister hanged for treason, and the a million/2-good stepsister relocated with a clean id.
