Sounds like a very expensive proposition, to me. Couldn't you use card stock or cover stock and a good quality laser printer, then have the cards laminated??? I'd be willing to bet a laser printer would cost less than commercially printing these cards because of the setup fees and so forth.

However, take them to your local Office Max or Office Depot and have someone there take a look at them... you never know.
