Im sure you guys knwo the history of when hawaii became part of the united states. Do you know in what ways are we helping Hawaii by taking them as apart of the U.S Like by Hawaii becoming part of the U.S it benifits the u.s because they produce good sugar and coffe. But how are we benifitting hawaii by adding it as a state?

We are not benefitting Hawaii - and Hawaiians don't like it anymore than Alaskans do. Unfortunatley, our government worked with the puppet governors in both state and did it anyway.

My son lives on Maui - has been there 8 years. He could tell you stories about all this that would curl your hair and make you want to move to Uganda.

The US is helping Hawaii by guaranteeing it's people the rights that all Americans are given. By being subject to the law of the United States, they also receive tax money for state projects such as roads, national parks, and education. They are subject to the protection of the US military.

I lived in Hawaii for 3 years and to be honest this is something that you are going to have to do actual research on (probably what you teacher wants to begin with).

While Federal laws DO apply to the US...from what I saw while I was there...not too much enforcement. It's a totally different world there...I can't wait to move back.

Because the US had take for granted to the aloha state (Hawaii) when they built the pearl harbor

They now get our protection and are eligible for our federal tax dollar for highways and education and such.
