I was just curious...
I know in order to qualify for it, you have to meet their income guidelines, but is your income based on gross pay or net pay??

Also, do they include overtime pay in the income, or just standard 40 hours????

Thanks!!!!

They look at your gross pay. If you always have overtime then they will have to take it. If you only have if once in awhile then make sure when you take your check stubs that don't have the overtime on it. They can also take your tax's for the year. Just take in your 1040 or whatever form you use. In Wisconsin if you qualify for medical assistance then you get wic automatically. The income guide lines follow the reduced and free hot lunch guide from the Federal government. They also up them every summer. So watch for that also. Especially if your income is close. Good luck it is a wonderful program.

typically it is gross income of the family...which theyll want verified with several pay stubs unless youre not working. You should be able to find income guidelines for your state online that will tell you how much you can make and still receive wic. I found it was easier to receive wic when not working even if earlier in the yr you made a decent amount. Atleast that was the case in FL and TN....it varies from state to state the best thing you can do is call the local office especially if youre pregnant since then theyll be able to get you on the way to get it started if youre unemployed or low income you can receive wic while pregnant which will include milk, cereal, and cheese.

They go by your gross income, and they include overtime in their calculations. I almost didn't qualify, becaus eat the time, I was working 7 days a week to try to put money aside for my daughter. I broke down into tears and told the lady that I wasn't always going to be able to have overtime, and asked her to reconsider. Sometimes, even government officials have hearts. Good luck!

WIC counts all gross income including OT but the income guideline is very high. It is much higher than you would think, WIC is a great program, I have 5 children and was on WIC with all of them, If not for them I would not have been able to supply all the formula needed for my babies.

Any pay including overtime. It is based on your gross pay, before taxes.

they look at your gross pay, sucks but yea and they take whatever icome is on your paystub, but at least my wic office they say they need a paystub no more than 3 months old, so if you werent getting overtime 3 months ago then i would use that one, but look on wic website the guidelines are pretty high, so you may qualify no matter what.

I believe they take it from your pay stub or last taxes.

I don't know if it's your gross or net though. Also, have you tried Healthwave? It's a GREAT low income health insurance that covers nearly everything.
