Find a glass bottle with a stopper and fill it with food-dye colored water. Or corn syrup with a little food-dye if you want it to be thicker.

well water with green food coloring would be an OK visual, even though there is no one look for poison since it can be clear or any other color and consistency.

As for Laws in the middle ages you will have a lot of work to do, laws varied from place to place, from king to king and lord to lord. And then you have to remember religious law, the church had some freedom to enforce religious laws, even in some cases laws that could override the king's own laws.

you might want to make an Axe, it was more common in executing the law of the land (sorry bad pun).

I had to do a similar project, but I did mine on Castle and city walls, I went a little crazy and my castle was in excess of 5 feet in diameter lol. but it was fun.

Best of luck
