Ok, I know this team is very young, basically all sophmores and freshman, but IT'S DUKE! One of the best coaches in the history of the game walks their bench and they are going up against Virginia Commonwealth? The same VCU that lost to Appalachian State, Bradley, Hofstra and Toledo. McRoberts is one of the best big men in that South bracket and they have 2 great versatile, good-shooting guards in Paulus and Scheyer. Every "expert" column I read has VCU winning and a lot of people on Yahoo! Answers seem to think the same. I have a feeling that this game won't even be close. So my question, why does nobody have faith in this team?

VCU exposed DUKE's lily white belly. VCU boasted trash talking 'brothers, which scared Paulus. Coach K's failure to stop the harrassment of Paulus lost the game.

VCU really is a good team. I think that Duke will beat VCU and them vs. Pitt will be a good game. I dont see why they cant move to the sweet 16, but i dont think that you should be disrespecting VCU because those 4 teams that you named are all in the NIT and a lot of people say APPST shoulve been in the NCAA. Nobody has faith in them because they are not the Duke of the past, they had 10 losses this season and 8-8 in the ACC + they are on a 3 game losing skid. It depends on which Duke shows up. If the one that beat GTown shows up then they will do good, but if the team that lost 4 in a row shows up, Coach K may have an early exit in this years tourney

I don't think it's so much disrespect as it is people seeing that the Duke mystic isn't there this year. It's not about the team being young because there are plenty of teams in the tournament with very young players. I think they'll beat VCU but the 2nd round is as far as I see them going.

I think they'll beat VCU, but the "Sweet 16" may be another story. Afterall, they've lost atleast 9 games, right?

Well they dont really have very outstanding players like JJ Redick, and they just did not have a very good season, but i can see them easily going to the Sweet 16.

I don't think disrespect is the right word. People don't like Duke because they are hypocrites and because they expect special treatment.
