Well, you've got the physical addiction and the oral fixation to deal with, and you need something to do with your hands.

Aside from the extremely obvious (which works quite well, except that you also need to avoid triggers...and what do you usually do after the extremely obvious? Light up!), I found it helped a lot to chew gum (sugarless), juggle (keeps the hands busy, and a little added dexterity never hurt), pursue new habits/hobbies/activities to get your mind off things, and celebrate every milestone you can (1 day/100 hours/1 week/1 month/100 days smoke-free). That celebration part is key...once you acknowledge that first 100 hours smoke-free, you don't want to have to go back and start over, y'know?

Worked for me. Good luck to you!

pick up a new habbit, like karate YEA BOI!

ok, besides eating which is what gets quitters into trouble and keeps smokers from quitting....

:theres carnivals and movies, stores, meet new friends, new jobs, and boys!, jumping jacks 10 if the craving comes, then dancin to the oldies when thats done,
theres manicures, new hair styles, nd all other sissy stuff with which to beguile,
try cleaning the house, bike riding, cooking, and dont forget trips to the carribean booking
(from saving all that $$ from not smoking) (and saving all that time you wont be choking)
go for a jog, pick some flowers, daydream, build yourself something, laugh or joining a sports team.
do those things youve been putting off, return those curtains you shouldnt have bought (en)
bake stuff, dont bite your nails!, try meditation or, yes, maybe, try new FOODS like escargo: snails,
distract yourself from what your giving, up and soon youll notice the cravings gone and youre living!!!!

Take a walk. Usually about 5 minutes is good.
Eat oranges. The citrus will help defeat the craving.

Sunflower seed eating, or gum. Or drop a big rock on your foot whenever you think about having one.
