I'd like to hear from those you have biological children and have adopted. How does this work with your family? Do you feel the adopted children are treated any differently? If so, how and why?

No that not all the case.
Some people adopt because they have to help family out or some one might have died that children are to be in their care, so forth and so on .....
My wife and I took on a child for undisclosed reason and it wasn't a planned thing. We just did what had to be done.
The family members (Our children all look up to us. The same as always did.) Some changes, OK a lot of changes but well worth it.
Warning - Be prepared to laugh more, work more and love more than ever before.

Well, it defiantly is not to be taken as quick decision!

At our age, and my own 2 children aged 30 & 31 (at given time) was not so easy.
Lets put it this way, Didn't wake up one morning and say, "We have nothing better to do let's adopt".
But was that quick of a decision when the newborn child came to us with all her needs.
This newborn required love, warmth and a stable safe home and she needed it NOW!
So from that day one was Need and not Selfish why we acted so quickly.

Were we crazy for doing this,? (some people thought and did say," At our ages, kids all grown Why?")
I'd be lien if I told you it was easy, far from the truth.
Nothing came easy, everything had it's price to be paid.
Late night feeding, when she was sick, low paid in spouse giving up their job.
Money to be put out on stuff you were at one time over, or never had to without cause and for the love of the new little bundle of joy.

I haven't dressed up in a long time and hardly have time for make up and nu stop running around for someone or something.

All said and done at the end of the day- WAS IT WORTH IT? You bet it was and still is.
I wouldn't change it for all the tea in China!
Just to see her smile is priceless and the love she gives in return.

Note: Take it to mind though this is from a person that was willing to change , anything and everything for a little girl's smile.

My children they stand beside us and support us and babysit if required. LOL
(Wouldn't change diapers though!)

Just have better holidays and more laughter.

Anyone can point me out on the street- Just look for the lady with half head of hair and other half gray! LOL

Adoption- Private
Change Of Life Style- Be Prepared Your Life Is Not Longer Yours Alone
Cost- Priceless

you know that question can also apply to the many couples who share kids, sorta. like a man who married a woman who already had kids, or vice versa, and they have kids also. i can't stand to see the (man in this case) treat the kids of his wife differently then the kids they had together.
my dads family treated my sister differently, we weren't his kids but he married my mom and had two kids with m mom, and it ticked me off growing up, during christmas i remember my sister getting everything from his family and we got nothing. now that im older i don't consider any of those people family as i was told as a child.
my mom has a friend who does everything with his biological son but doesn't care for his wifes daughter and he known her since she was 2 years old, hes the only father she knows. thats sad. i think people need to realize when you marry someone with kids its a package deal. you can't get one without the other. kids don't deserve to be treated that way.
