Many customers didn't pay me after I delivered the product(s). I was my biggest customer. I didn't charge order processing fees/taxes sometimes. I have a full-time job & this was suppose to be for fun & to buy for myself primarily.

You can file a loss, I believe when you are trying to start a business you can file a loss for two years even. So file, but maybe you'll get extra money back for going in the hole.

Since you did not make any money there is no reason to file taxes on something you ended up buying. Should you have had a start up fee that was paid in full you can include that in your tax preparation. Explaning as well you made no money off this.

Did you get 1099?

If yes, then you need to include whatever it has. The IRS received a copy already.

If no, I would not sweat it.
