You probley have food gunk built up in your trap. We usually pour about 2 cups of bleach down each drain when they start to smell. Leave sit for a while before you put any water down there to let it work. The longer the better. Your house may smell a little like bleach for a day or so but it shouldn't hurt you. open a window if it bothers you.

particular - regrettably your pipes may well be too small. a bathing gadget places out a good number of water very straight away - and often small waste lines are a million a million/2" interior diameter. this might hardly take the quantity of water. in extra present day homes, all those issues is two" which consists of plenty extra water. So possibly there is no longer something you're able to do different than replumb the lines maximum appropriate out of your washer to the huge sewer line which does no longer sound like plenty relaxing.

Bleach is the best solution. I pour 3 cups in the drain and leave it while I'm at work. When I come I run hot water down the drain for about 5 minutes. The bleach kills the bacteria causing odors and helps keep the drains running free.

The best thing I have come across is if you have a garbage disposal, cut a lemon in half and throw it down into the disposal. It will take a few days to degrade and go down, but it smells good everytime you run it. Not sure what to do for it if you don't have a disposal though.

I was going to give the same answer as "My blood type
is Folgers". I had the same problem months ago and my mom
told me to cut up lemons and oranges. It does smell good,
but from reading your answers I am going to try Domestos and bleach so that I don't have to waste a citrus food that we could be eating instead of putting down the drain.

I squirt alittle Domestos (Hospital Strength Bleach) down the plug holes every couple of days, that keeps the smells at bay. Also Nilodor is very good

Check under your sink for a water leak. If you get odors back from the drain, waste, and vent system, it usually means that the "P"-trap under your sink is leaking. There's probably a pinhole leak, and that's why it akes a while for the odors to appear after you finsh using the sink.
