Is it because minority people once again screamed racism against a bunch of alien creatures that shouldn't technically even be related to race/skin color?

What's the deal?

I wondered the same thing!! I noticed that in the earlier episodes he has the matching skin tone, but in later issues he doesn't!

I agree with your theory though! It makes sense!

Someone told me that green characters on cartoons, anime, and television in general represent Blacks or Afro-Americans. So yes, there maybe some under lying racism on these shows with green characters. In other words, blacks are aliens from another planet. That is so sad :(

dipsy skin color never came up with my kids. they always asked why the purple one carried a hand bag? i told them the teletubby have no pockets.. needed something to carry his/it things in.

omigod i have always wondered that!
my sister and i used to talk about how no one should make fum of dipsy because he is "different" (and yes, we would always make the air quotes) than the rest of the Teletubbies

i dont know...why also do they have a bigger one than the rest (tinky winky) is it so fat kids dont feel left out....or they wanted a diverse-ish group of teletubbies
i dont think it should matter, their target audience shouldnt have to worry about that sort of stuff yet
