I am haitian as well, and everyone on my mom side is mulattoes or straight up syrians and I am 25% syria 25% french ancestory. But I consider myself haitian or african american because that is were many haitians were held captive and brought to the island haiti. But just go by what you feel and the culture you are closer to because I am not muslim nor do I do the same things as my ancestors.
