I think Game Stop is a scam. I just think it is wrong that Game Stop will buy games and sells them again for double the price. I think it is a scam.

They run a store and the object of that store is to make money. You agreed to sell the game for 26 dollars and they can re-sell it for whatever they want. There job is not to give you a good deal, they are trying to make money, next time sell on e-bay or craigslist and you might get more money for your games.

Wow most of the answers here are just dumb. The best one so far is the former Best buy guy. There is a basic lesson of wholesale and retail. If you want sell it for more money then do it else where. Ebay, craigs list etc. but if you want the cash for the game right on the spot then sell it to Game Spot. Game spot can sell the game for what ever they believe it will sell for. It does not matter what they paid for it. Nor should it bother you what they sell it for after they bought it for either. Did you pay for advertising your game, an sales clerk , lights, security etc etc etc....
They are not a scam or rip off artists etc they are a business.

because its a business and they want to turn a profit! They have other costs besides just paying you for the game. Electricity, phones, rent on the location, permits from the city, taxes, wages for employees and managers, maintenance pools/fee from the mall/landlord, buying new stock, buying business supplies such as shelves to display the stock so you can find it, etc.

If they buy a game from you at half the cost of what they sell it for, they automatically cant make any more than 50% profit on it. Factor in all the other costs and their profit margin is probably somewhere around between 7-15% depending on a few variables. Typical margin on a new software title is about 3-13%. So they arent ripping you off as bad as you think they are as most games, new and used, will fall around the 10% mark.

They can do that because they can. Really I don't care about a game once I beat it, I just want to get the next game. So if i get 20 bucks off the next one by bringing in the old one I'm happy. If u want more for ur games sell them on ebay or Amazon.com. Good Luck!!

WOW, isn't that how business earn their profit? Is really not a scam, they didn't force you to do anything that you don't like and their price is not hidden. Just think about it, if you own GameStop, will you buy high and sell low?

BECAUSE THEY ARE CHEEP A$$HOLES

its how they make their money iguess, but DONT support this! If you have to shop at gamestop, just pay the extra 5$ for a new game, and support the company that makes the game, not gamestop. Sell your used games on eBay, you can make a lot more that way.

Cry more? I don't know about you but if I were in a business I would go for maximum profit. If your mad don't sell your games to Gamestop sell them yourself at prices that you think are fair. "If you build it they will come."

I agree! I walked in there was about 15 Xbox games and they offered me $38 for all of them. These games were in good condition and still relatively new titles, but we got a 360 and were getting rid of them. I basically told them what they could do with their $38 and walked out.
