my 6 month old is teething or having major tummy problems and i don't know which, i tried teething tablets and they're all natural and just calm down the baby when she's cranky and restless and agitated, i don't want to give them to her really often but the directions say every 2-3 hours as needed, so is that ok? i just feel bad for knocking her out every time she's fussy, but this is a kind of fussy that is almost out of control

No,feel no guilt here, teething hurts! You gave your baby the medicine she needed. She was cranky because she was in pain.Would you be a better mother if you left her with the pain? No you wouldn't,I understand you worrying about giving her unnecessary medication, but the reason you are supposed to dose every 2-3 hours is to keep on top of the pain, not to knock your baby out.Obviously you will need to be careful not to let it become a habit to give your baby medicine every time she opens her mouth, but really, you sound like you have your daughter's best interests at heart.Give her the medicine if she needs it. Did you do natural childbirth, should she do natural teething!

infant tylonol would be best I think. A doctor will tell you recommended dosage - if it's really bad maybe motrin too. This could help with the tummy and teeth. I wouldnt want to give this often either but at least you could do it every 4 hours instead of every 2-3. Hope this helped, try to comfort anyway possible other than medication I think but I know what it's like to know your baby is in pain. GOOD LUCK

DO NOT FEEL GUILTY. Sleeping when you are in pain is ok. Just so she is not out 24 hours. But you could try ambusol cream, cold teething rings. And the old stand by, walking her. Eventually the teeth will come in. She is probably cutting more than one. The tummy problem you did not say much about. Deff.ask your dr.AGAIN about the tummy. Doctors are only human.

Get Infants mortin, its for babies 6 months to 23 months and it works for 8 hours. Then give her tylenol after that and alternate between both of them. Save the Motrin for bed time if you can. Lots of babies are getting ear infections, if there medicine don't help take her to the doctor it sounds that bad of crying could be something more then teething. Best of luck.

Those teething tablets are a life saver. I found them when I had my third child. I was so relieved. I used to give them to him every three to four hours. They worked amazingly well. They are definetly safe. Don't worry. She will be fine, and don't feel bad for making her feel so much better.

Teething HURTS. You never really appreciate that until your wisdom teeth start coming in as an adult. I only wish someone could have knocked me out for that! Seriously, don't feel bad about it. You talked to your doctor, and you're making her more comfortable by allowing her to sleep instead of cry in agony.

I think it is bad for the baby. What kind of pills are those exactly? Is it a painkiller? Do you know how bad over-the-counter medicines (tylenol,advil,motrin..you name it) can be for your kidneys, liver and other organs...???
Every child might be fussy during its teething stage. There are better home remedies than drugging a baby. Americans in general take too many over-the-counter meds and they think nothing will happen. But they are not good! Too many side effects. I do not think its healthy at all!!!
Please research a little more online and talk to several doctors.

I disagree with the oragel, or anything that numbs, it can cause saliva to build in your babies throat and they can choke, I swear by hylands teething tablets, and infact I use a lot of their products. My daughter just cut 4 teeth in 1 week.

Those things are wonderful. Don't feel bad for giving her something that helps. Another thing good for teething and tummy problems is chamomille.
I used them a lot.
