For, provided:
-the workplace has been designated by the employer as drug free
-a clear policy has been developed and provided to all concerned which delineates how and when the company will send employees for testing
-the policy is fairly and consistently applied to everyone

I've worked in a company where drugs were pretty much the norm for everyone but me, and I've worked for a contractor where drugs were verboten and a positive test would get you fired. No drugs makes for lots less drama and lots more productivity.

I do not use drugs and never have. I am for drug and alcohol testing. This is a measure to keep drug users out of the workplace, as much as possible. If a person can't be drug free then how could they possibly be accident free.

I would not want to be flying on a commercial airline with the pilot hopped up on drugs. I would not want my children riding on a school bus with the driver hopped up on drugs. I would not want the person working next to me while I was working on a hazardous piece of equipment if that person was hopped up on drugs.

People have to be responsible for their own actions. Using illegal drugs is not responsible.
