Shouldn't we have a comprehensive plan to back up our demands of "Bring home our troops!" If the Democratic leaders want to demand that, then the public should also hear what happens to Iraq , after our troops are brought home!

Yes, we should have a plan, and the problem is that there is no good one, because Iraq needs a steady force to control it. Yes, its sad that our troops are dying over there for pretty much no reason, but we went and messed up their country, so we have a choice to either leave them and let them sort out their differences, which will result in a lot of bloodshed, or we can let our money and our soldiers lives pay for their peace.

I'm a Republican, and I probably shouldn't be answering you, but i will anyway. I do not think we should pull out of Iraq, because we've already gone too far. And now that the Democrats are in control of Congress, let's just see what their plan is, if our troops DO pull out. That is the real time when we will see if the Democratic leaders can handle it.

I will love to hear what happens if we pull out.

I would define victory as Iraq being a stable country. I don't think Iraq has ever been stable in recent history. I don't think US troops staying there for another decade will make it stable either. So withdrawing now will be the same as withdrawing in another few years.

The area is and always will be unstable. Saddam and his sons are dead. We accomplished "something". I don't like the cut-and-run approach but I simply don't see the US ever accomplishing anything else in Iraq.

Guess they are planning our surrender because the world will gang up on us after the see how weak our congress is under this leadership. It is a sad day for America that permits the halls of congress to be used as a surrender ground. The thousands of our ancestors that gave their lives to build this country must be very upset with the current congress and it's attacks on those that defend this country.

After US troops are brougth home that will mean no more US troops will die or be blown up by IEDs.

Once all US troops are out of Iraq the Iraqi (Shiite) army will slaughter Al Qaeda & all insurgents in Iraq.

With civil war won by the Iraqi (Shiite) Army & Democratic Govt. a new democratic Iraq nation will rise.

How that for a lib cut & run plan?

This administration has failed just because they have no plan to get out. Democrats will get us out and Iraq will be assisted by the UN and its Mideast neighbors to stabilize.

I think the democrat plan for such an eventuality is a two stage approach.
1) Ignore it
2) blame Bush
