Never formally. But the failed Air America is an attempt at flattery that we dittoheads take note of ... not to mention NPR's perennial pledge drive pleas for help (in addition to automatic taxpayer support).

They try, but just can't beat the success of Rush.

Just how did he revolutionalize it?
Turn it more conservative? Perhaps.
Other than that he just talks politics and takes calls, hardly a revolution. Granted he is quite eloquent and has witty things to say and brings a unique voice.
Keep in mind, I am a Republican and not biased. I just don't know that there was so much of a revolution.
I second phil, Howard did more to revolutionalize radio before Rush, and he has done it again with the miracle he has performed with Sirius taking it from 600,000 subscribers to nearly 7 million in just over a year.

All he will get is a "heckuva job" pat on the back from the neo-cons. He'll be remembered for his obtaining illegal pain killers from his cleaning lady, and the "little blue pills" that he tried to disguise by having the script in his doctors name. Oh yea, he may get a "water boy" statue from the neo-cons too. That's all.

I give him a lot of credit for completely destroying public discourse in this country and for helping prove that Hitler's idea (unfortunately) still holds:

If the lie is big enough, and you scream it often enough, there will be a lot of morons who will believe it to be true.

What credit were YOU thinking he should get?
